Working on Christmas

Okay, so my christmas cards came! But I am still waiting for my ornaments from P.Barn. its starting to piss me off.

We got ALL of our outside lights up, our christmas tree, the banister, and the fireplace mantle done on sat. and STILL had time to go to Target and Michaels.

When I was younger my mom bought several nutcrackers, so I am hoping to borrow a few to spice up my mantle...and I have to find the mini nutcrackers {that sounds funny} to spice up my banister or little tree.

And I'm making "Santa Bags" {inspired by P.Barn Kids}. They should be done soon. However, what shape they will be in when finished is a whole-nother story, as it seems Sofie has taken quite a liking to the fur.

Pics to come soon.

More on Christmas Card-ing

Alllrrright...my christmas cards have been ordered. They are on their way and should be here by monday for sure {I hope}. I usually like to do very classic cards, or funny cards, so I'm trying something new this year. My most favorite card {that I sent out in college} was a cartoon drawing of a little girl sitting on Santa's lap and the inside read "Can you define Naughty?" ~So cute~ I can't remember what ours said last year. The best christmas cards made are for single women, you can get sooo creative with that.

I hope hope hope these come out nice. I'm so excited!

Santa's Bags

Wouldn't these be great?! personalize "Santa Bags" from Potterbarn Kids. I think I want to get them for Steve and I. Who say's grownups can't have fun! I think it would look so cute under the christmas tree, AND keep Sofie from chewing all our presents.

Ornament Frames

When I went to Pottrery Barn this sat I bought 2 of these cute ornament~frames for our christmas tree. In the store they only had the oval and the rectangle. I might buy the square online as well because my mother always says when decorating to buy in 3s.

I also bought online the #1 pet ornament and had it engraved with Sofie and the Our First Christmas ornament engraved with our wedding date.

I think these are really nice. I can't wait for them to arrive. So instead of buying in 3s, I bought in 5s and I think that will make a cohesive statment and the size won't be over powering the rest of the ornaments on the tree.

The In-Laws

I saw on another girls blog a picture of the Kennedy's sailing. And because I am just still so obsessed with what would have been my future in-laws {had my future husband not gone and gotten himself and his [then] wife killed when I was 19}. So here are a few more pics. ~Sigh.

On Gaurd

My little girl has become a very good watch dog. She barks at everything moving outside, the leaves, the neighboors van, the shadows, you name it. She loves to look out the windows by the front door and the patio door in the kitchen. She isn't looking for animals, but for people. Because she loves everyone. This morning was the same, she sat and barked and then came back into the family room and rested very cat like on the cushions on the back of the couch. ~A Job Well Done.

Christmas Lights

I want to put small pine trees outside by my front porch or in a pot on the steps by the front door and light them up. I think it would be a great addition to our christmas lights this year. I dont' know if these are too expensive?

Shopping For Me

I remember seeing this cool thing a while ago. It would be so cute on my table in the basement. I would like it for christmas, so I'm going to forward it on to my mom. Who is probably the only one that would get it for me, as Steve doesn't really ask what I want.

I also like this. It would look soo cute in my flower bed next summer. Its not that expensive, but its not that big either.

Rain Drops

I just want to say I had a really hard day today. Sometimes I feel like my life is the proverbial "all thumbs". Nothing seems to fit. A long long time ago, I would have never believed all of this, but now it seems no one is above making mistakes, or loosing everything. I learned that the hard way. And as my dad always says, when you are down, they kick you. So true dad.

But today was a nice day weather wise. I took Sofie on a longer walk today, partly because I need to fit into a bridesmaid dress soon. I can't even think that far ahead right now. Its just day by day. I am just so glad that I have Sofie. She is my sunshine. She is all that is good and wonderful and pure in this world. I feel so bad for what I put her through. Thank you God, for her. I promise I'll be a better mom to her tommorow.

I like what I have done. But this pic was the easiest one. I still have 2-3 more to do. I should just buy a pack of cheap cards at walgreens or something. Why do I do this to myself???!

J.Crew

Did you check out the J.Crew website yet? I saw it just now and it put me in SUCH a christmas mood its unbelievable. And I saw some cute cute things I want for christmas. Steve and I want to try to get some shopping done next weekend. But look at some of this cute shit!

My Dad has wanted a new monogramed sweater since "May Company" stopped doing that back in like '90 or something. This one is pretty affordable. I better decide quick!

I have wanted to get steve a sports coat for sometime. I know if I have it monogramed though, he will NEVER wear it. I'm not sure if I like the dark chocolate color better than the akorn?...hmmm

And these gloves are so cute. But WAY $$$.
~for me of course.
