"I Must Have Written Your Name

A Hundred Times" she said to me. Right after she very eloquently said "I'm sorry, but who ARE you?" I'm Genna I replied, which must have lit a spark in her memory because she immediately busted out with "Ohhhhh, YOU'RE Genna".

Now I could have been rude, but why would I stoop to the level of a person that obviously is so crass that she doesn't know how rude she sounded. I find it harder and harder for me to keep my "mouth" (as my mother calls it) in check. Don't these people know what is polite and what is not? I am a perfect stranger for God's sake, why would she have to write my name a 100 times, I ask you? Even Steve found that peculiar, which is pretty amazing, because Steve NEVER takes anything anyone says "the wrong way".

None the less, as my father always told me, there is a reason to why a person can not look you in the eye. And that I discovered is what I find so upsetting about these people, they can't look me in the eye, and I hardly know them. Which leads me to assume they are writing my name a 100 times, copying my centerpieces, and just plain talking about me behind my back. Maybe I should have been rude, but I am trying to be more mature lately. I want to be calm, reserved and composed like my Grama, who would have just smiled, as I did, and said
"It's nice to meet you".
