Brothers

Sofie's brother and big sister came to visit last Saturday. Sofie LOVES them. Maybe a little tooooo much, its sorta suffocating. As soon as her brother Casey got here he peed on her new pink blanket. Such a stinker he is. Just like a brother to go an ruin your new blanky. So we washed it of course, and now Sofie is smelling it as she lays on it. Hmmmm, I think she just caught a whiff.

Brothers, Ugh.

Wedding Songs

Ahhh, Weddings... Its coming on that time of year again, when brides scratch and scram to finish planning their weddings in time for the season, which begins in may or june around here. I was one of these women last year, and while I wish Steve and I could somehow be transported back into our bodies on our wedding day, I do NOT miss the planning...At All!

Since my wedding video isn't done yet, I can still pick some of the songs I want in it. I have been collecting a wonderful amount of "weddingish songs". These are some of the soundtracks and songs I reccomend, for wedding videos. BTW, in my opinion, no one, and I mean NOONE, gets classier than Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, or Tony Bennett, for wedding songs! Michael Bubble is good too, and I like some country songs and some Oldies, but for a classic video, that will stand the test of time. Dean, Frank and Tony do it best.

My Best Friends Wedding Soundtrack
2. Wishin' And Hopin' - Ani DiFranco
7.The Way You Look Tonight - Tony Bennett

Ultimate Wedding Songs
2. On Bended Knee - Boyz II Men
11. At Last - Etta James
18. Unforgettable - Nat King Cole

You've Got Mail Soundtrack
9. Signed Sealed Delivered I'm Yours - Stevie Wonder
15. You Made Me Love You - Jimmy Durante

Sweet Home Alabama
6. Keep Your Hands To Yourself - The Calling
11. Marry Me - Dolly Parton

Dino: The Essential Dean Martin
1. Ain't That A Kick In The Head
2. That's Amore
3. Memories Are Made Of This
14. You Belong To Me

How To Lose a Guy In 10 Days
1. Somebody Like You - Keith Urban
3. Feels Like Home - Chantal Kreviazuk

Waiting

I am still waiting for my books from Amazon. Doesn't it seem like a long wait? And I just tracked it and it is coming DHL...what the f*&k! Nothing comes DHL. Is amazon hard up or something. God, it is taking forever. It better come today. Free Super Saver Shipping is a scam. It used to be quick and awesome and now its like they sit on the order for 3 days, then comes the weekend and then it ships out by the worst carrier ever. Seriously...

But I digress. In other news, I did get my hair cut, short and I love it. Its not suuuper short but I shed all that extra 07 weight and feel like I am about 2 years younger, like as in before our engagement and wedding. Weddings really stress you out. They add years to your face, make you hate people who you never had any problem with before, turn you into an aggressive, take no bullshit broad, and then leave you to somehow regain your composure by the time you march up the aisle and smile for the camera. So 07 has a lot of happiness and a lot of grittiness associated with it, so I cut my hair off and feel like I am embarking on a new life.

Now I got to get my fat ass on the damn treadmill. 4-sure!

Funny Email

From Christina. :)

Installing A Husband

Dear Tech Support,

Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a
distinct slow down in overall system performance -- particularly in the
flower and jewelry applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend
5.0.

In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as
Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5 and then installed undesirable
programs such as NFL 5.0, NBA 3.0, and Golf Clubs 4.1.

Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the
system. I've tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no
avail.

What can I do?

Signed,
Desperate
-------------------------------------

Dear Desperate:

First keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband
1.0 is an Operating System. Please enter the command: "I Thought You Loved
Me.exe" and try to download Tears 6.2 and don't forget to install the Guilt
3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then
automatically run the applications Jewelry 2.0 and Flowers 3.5.

But remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to
default to Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 6.1. Beer 6.1 is a
very bad program that will download the Snoring Loudly Beta.

Whatever you do, DO NOT install Mother-in-law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the
background that will eventually seize control of all your system resources).

Also, do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0 program. These are
unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0

In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory
and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider buying
additional software to improve memory and performance. We recommend Food 3.0
and Hot Lingerie 7.7.

Good Luck,
Tech Support

Bon Jovi

Love this song. I'm thinking of having my sister set our wedding video credits to this song. It would make such a great ending.

Rainy night and the worked all day
We both got jobs caus theres bills to play
We got something they cant take away
Our love, our lives

Close the door, leave the cold outside
I dont need nothing when Im by your side
We got something thatll never die
Our dreams, our pride

My heart beats like a drum (all night)
Flesh to flesh, one to one (and its alright)
And Ill never let go cause
Theres something I know deep inside

You were born to be my baby
And baby, I was made to be your man

We got something to believe in
Even if we dont know where we stand
Only God would know the reasons
But I bet he must have had a plan
Cause you were born to be my baby
And baby, I was made to be your man

Light a candle, blow the world away
Table for two on a tv tray
It aint fancy, baby thats ok
Our time, our way

So hold me close better hand on tight
Buckle up, baby, its a bumpy ride
Were two kids hitching down the road of life
Our world, our flight

If we stand side by side (all night)
Theres a chance well get by (and its alright)
And Ill know that youll be live
In my heart till the day I die

Cause you were born to be my baby
And baby, I was made to be your man

We got something to believe in
Even if we dont know where we stand
Only God would know the reasons
But I bet he must have had a plan
Cause you were born to be my baby
And baby, I was made to be your man

Solo

My heart beats like a drum (all night)
Flesh to flesh, one to one (and its alright)
And Ill never let go cause
Theres something I know deep inside

Cause you were born to be my baby
And baby, I was made to be your man

We got something to believe in
Even if we dont know where we stand
Only God would know the reasons
But I bet he must have had a plan

Cause you were born to be my baby

Hair Cut Ideas

I am getting my cut on Sat and I can't be more excited about it. I need to cut off all this extra weight that I have been carrying around with me. I need to shed the old, ring in the new and get excited about my life again. Get and keep my mind in shape and my body toned up. Got lots I want to do, I hope I can do it this year.

I like her bob, I would like to do something like it with out the curls though. My hair just doesn't do that.

Oh 8!

Okay, 2007 is over! Whew, it was a close one. What a crazy year, it started off with a second surgery the day after Valentines day, which totally killed my feb and part of march wedding planning, then at the end of April my bridal shower, a trip to NJ in May and then my bachelorette party in the beginning of June, and then the craziness that finally led to our wedding at the end of june, which quickly rolled into the 4th of July, and then our honeymoon cruise and my 28th birthday, the end of July we got our little baby Sofie and Steve's birthday in August, we moved all my stuff in in September and attempted to get the house in order, by then Halloween came, thanksgiving flew by and the Christmas shopping, decorating and celebrating, ending with a tumultuous new years to conclude. So I sit here and type, hoping the blizard outside that welcomed 2008 dies down so that I can go to the grocery store and buy some Pork.

Welcome 2008, I hope its a little calmer than 2007 {in a good way}.

Eat Pork and Prosper, Eat Chicken and Scratch in the new year. Happy New Year everyone!

Books To Review

As part of the get me in shape {Mental, Physical, Emotional and Spiritual} quest I am embarking on for 2008 I ordered these wimsical yet insightful little potty chamber books. {I say potty chamber because thats where I do most of my reading ~ha ha}.
Reviews to follow...eventually

One Special Summer by Lee Bouvier and Jacqueline Bouvier

A Guide to Elegance: For Every Woman Who Wants to Be Well and Properly Dressed on All Occasions by Genevieve Antoine Dariaux

The Men in Your Life: Timeless Advice and Wisdom on Managing the Opposite Sex by Genevieve Antoine Dariaux

WWJD?

What would Jackie do?

I came across this book a last year or so at Anthropologie. And while I am a die hard for anything Jackie I put it down because it was too expensive for such a little book. "try amazon" I thought to myself, and sure enough I found it -cheaper.

Last night in my sickness panick while I lay listening for the wash to be done at 4:30 in the am, I told myself that I needed to get a grip. That not every stressor should be THE stressor that puts me over. And that is how I have been feeling lately {my whole life?} Maybe its just because I am sick, or maybe it is because I am cooped up inside with the dog, or maybe it is because it is just plain true.

Steve always tells me not to show the world my ass. He tells me that I don't need to tell everyone what I think, or what I feel or what is wrong. And thats not even the problem. Its that I can't take even the minimal stressor. I can't handle a simple problem without it becoming a mountain. And last night, I finally got what he has been saying to me for so long. And I need to get some help with it.

I am in search for the best stress help book there is. And for some reason, at the stroke of 5am I remembered this little treasure of a book sitting in my bedside table drawer. So I tried to read it in the dark, and the few words I absorbed were enough to still me for the rest of the night. This morning I opened it back up and began reading. While it is not a cure for my stress, it does cause me to think beyond the paramaters of my own brain, for now.

Any stress help books to recommend to me?

5pm.

One of the things I enjoy the most is coming home, walking Sofie and then turning on Dr. Phil. I wish I could watch it everyday, but sometimes I don't get that luxury.

Here's some Dr. Phil-isms...

Sewing Soon.

My parents got me a sewing machine for christmas!!! I am so excited about it. In conjunction my sister got me a sewing desk but it is in an aweful melamine "wood" finish. I would like to paint it black to match the other furniture in the room. I found this article about how to do it. I would also like to walpaper or decopage some pretty paper on the doors. It could be pretty once its all done.

I'd like it to resemble something like this.

And this article makes me want to convert the whole room into a sewing center and get peg boards and thread holders etc. I could just sew and sew!

Maybe one day my sewing center will look as cute as this one from HGTV.

Today

I was really stressed out today. My christmas shopping isn't finished. I have anxiety about whether or not my family will like the gifts I am giving them. Sofie is acting crazy, she won't cooperate and is very bored because she doesn't have enough time to play in the snow. Steve is putting alot of pressure on me and making me feel hurt and insecure. We have AT & T coming tommorow to instal new tv service, and I have to make sure i am up and ready to go, and then call steve's dad over when I leave for work. Wednesday, from 1-3 our coffee and side table are being deliverd and that makes it very hard to get to work. So after 2 trips outside around the block in the cold and snow with Sofie trying to get her to potty I dragged her inside. She ran like a crazy dog around the house untill I grabed her and put her in the box. I was at the end of my rope. I sat down and took the deepest breath I have ever taken. Inhaling and Inhaling, almost gasping for breath. And then I instantly felt better. I felt in control again. I felt like I could get up and handle the next thing. Deep breaths, sometimes I need deeper ones than I think I do. I feel better and I will keep going.

Elfed

Jen and Darren Elfed us. So funny. here

What I Would Say

If I had a big body guard behind me.

First up I would tell off some of my husbands friends. I wouldn't just tell them off, I would tell them everything I don't like about them, and then make fun of their clothes, their cars, their jobs and finally I would lay into them about everything they have ever said to or about me. Then, when they got in my face pointing their finger, screaming and all, I'd snap my fingers and my big body guard would appear.

Secondly, as I drove to and from work, to and from shopping etc. I would yell out the window at every single obnoxious person on the road. I mean I would yell and swear and then when they looked over at me, my big body guard would lean into view and they'd drive off.

Thirdly, I would take him shopping with me. He could carry my bags, and push other shoppers aside saying "coming through" "make room" "move away folks", "nothing to see here" and "give us some room". And then I could yell at the other people, and they couldn't do a damn thing about it.

Fourthly, my big body guard could come with me when I walk my dog. He could block the wind and the rain. He could use the pooper~scooper or better yet, as neighbors stared out the window while my little Sofie squats out a big poopie, he could just give them a smile and a nod, letting them know what's up.

I have wanted a big body guard for sometime now, how nice it would be if Santa brought me one for Christmas. ~he he he.

The Jolliest Bunch of Assholes

Where do you think you're going?
Nobody's leaving.
Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas.
No, no. We're all in this together.
This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here.
We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye.
And when Santa squeezes his fat white ass down that chimney tonight,
he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse.

~Clark in Christmas Vacation

I'm Dreaming Of A White Christmas?

Still on the search for a clip of the Sister's Song from White Christmas. My Grama made Tee and I watch it one year, and it was a joke ever since. Now I kinda like it. It's funny how time changes things. What was once a song that would make us laugh till we cried now makes me cry, thinking about how we used to laugh...

Sisters, Sisters
There were never such devoted sisters,
Never had to have a chaperone, no sir,
Im there to keep my eye on her.

Caring, sharing
Every little thing that we are wearing.
When a certain gentleman arrived from rome
She wore the dress, and I stayed home.

All kinds of weather, we stick together
The same in the rain and sun
Two different faces, but in tight places
We think and we act as one.

Those whove seen us
Know that not a thing could come between us.
Many men have tried to split us up, but no one can.
Lord help the mister who comes between me and my sister
And lord help the sister, who comes between me and my man.

Sisters, Sisters
